- The Magawish neighborhood of Hurghada, Red Sea Governorate, Egypt is home to an aquarium known as Hurghada Aquarium. It first opened in January 2015 and has a storage capacity of roughly 3,500 cubic meters (900,000 US gallons)
- There are about 1200 animals living there, representing 100 different species. This aquarium is not only the biggest in Egypt but also one of the largest in the Arab world
- There are a total of 24 different displays, including a shark tunnel, a rainforest, and "Whale Valley," which is inspired by fossils discovered in the Western Desert
- The complex also has a zoo and an exhibit on Bedouin culture. Some of the most interesting animals on display in the aquarium are nurse sharks, stingrays, green sea turtles, shovelnose guitarfish, and eagle rays
